CASE STUDY – 2PAQ™
A worldwide manufacturer of bearings located in France was looking to improve performances of its metalworking coolants. The plant, with the capacity to produce up to 20 million bearings a year, serves a broad range of customers, including PSA Peugeot Citroen, Mercedes Benz, Renault, Volkwagen/ Audi, Scania, John Deere, Volvo, Caterpillar, Linde, Fiat/Iveco, J.I. Case, Jaguar and others.
They were specifically looking to alleviate the following problems:
- Improve biostability of emulsion
- Reduce machining fluid usage and waste
- Reduce total cost
Quaker introduced the advanced two-part coolant/cleaner technology 2PAQ™ – QUAKERCOOL® OIL HR & QUAKERCOOL® W ALCA BFF after analyzing the current customer’s situation and controlling of emulsion in use (pH, TBN, acid split). After a presentation to the management team, the customer partially dumped their central system (~50%) and refilled with 2PAQ™. During the trial, Quaker provided laboratory support and weekly scheduled technical support. As a result of the trial, it was shown that improvements in biostability and reduction in costs were realized.
